Ευρωπαϊκή νομοθεσία
Στην Ευρώπη αλλά και διεθνώς η νομοθεσία για την Υγεία και Ασφάλεια στην Εργασία (Workplace Regulations/Approved Codes of Practice/Framework Directives/Federal OSHA guidelines) περιλαμβάνει ενότητες σχετικά με τη θερμική καταπόνηση των εργαζομένων, που στηρίζονται κυρίως σε πρακτικές οδηγίες και σε οριακές τιμές θερμικής άνεσης που έχουν εκδοθεί για την εκτίμηση του θερμικού περιβάλλοντος από εξειδικευμένους φορείς όπως οι ACGHI, NIOSH, ASARAE αλλά και από τα σχετικά ISO.
